The girl walked, alone. Someone crept into the edge of her mind walked over the sands. Before she could remember, the tide crept in, erasing the footprints in the sand. Why couldn't she remember? With short, quick strokes of the bow, Ella played the violin as if possessed. Her fingers pressed down on the strings tighter to prepare for the high note coming. Quivering with anticipation, her legs trembled as she cocked her neck in order to get a better grip on her instrument.
